Huge Difference Inside or Out; Crisp Crust Throughout I use this outside on the grill and also in my oven in the house. On the grill, I use my Weber smoker with hickory wood. The smoke really penetrates the crust for a brick oven taste. It is best to pre-heat the stone if time allows, but sometimes I don’t and it still comes out good. Do some research to know how to use all pizza stones because it’s recommended to use corn flower as a layer between the dough and the stone, or use parchment paper. I used parchment paper when I made my own dough and it worked fantastic. When I cooked a store bought pizza I didn’t use anything between the stone and the pizza and I had the edges of what was left of the cheese and pizza harden on the stone.
